Where are we headed America? For those of you who call information, Right Wing Rhetoric, I’m certain you won’t like this blog. We are at a point where our nation is being threatened from with-in by an ideology that encompasses a lot of far left theories. If you have followed the rise to stardom, of Chavez in Venezuela, you can understand my concern when you hear the latest discussions taking place with-in this Administration. The following headlines pretty much say what they are thinking:

Reich: Unions Can Save This Economy
Clinton-era Labor Secretary Robert Reich says bank bailouts won't revive the U.S. economy, but an expansion of union membership might, and he says controversial “card-check” legislation should be passed by the Congress now in order to stimulate job growth.
If passed, union organizers would no longer have to conduct a secret ballot election to get employees of a small business represented by a national union.

Pelosi: Nationalization of Banks Possible

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says that the idea of nationalization, or perhaps partial nationalization, of America's leading banks is gaining currency among U.S. policymakers.

"Whatever you want to call it," Speaker Pelosi told ABC News, "If we are strengthening them (the banks), then the American people should get some of the upside of that strengthening. Some people call that nationalization."

When you couple this with the move to silence Talk Radio, worries about our 2nd amendment rights and the un proven Global Warming Culture that is so prevalent in this administration, many educated Americans get a little nervous. We’re talking about a real threat here that is a greater threat to our freedom than Osama and his henchmen.

What happens after the soon to be coming Amnesty of millions of illegal aliens, 20 million more voters will be ever grateful and vote accordingly. How long will it be before the military is reduced to a minimal force and actually replaced by a national militia. Think it’s impossible, I hope you’re right, because if you aren’t we are in for a ride down the slippery slope to an Oligarchy form of government which translates to, ruled by a few.

Most Americans feel this is an impossibility because the majority wouldn’t allow it to happen. The problem with that theory is that in America the majority doesn’t have the power. In our present situation, we through our vote last November, have given the Legislative Branch, The Executive Branch and with the power of those two in the hands of a few, it will soon encompass the Judicial Branch of government to the far left in our society.

The United States was founded on the basic principles of freedom. The drafters of our Bill of Rights and our Constitution never intended for one group to have total control over our society. They felt the checks and balances of a 3 part government would be sufficient to protect our republic. Just think for a moment about what would happen if we had a National Militia loyal to one administration, frightening is how I would put it, but who am I, just some right wing whacko who worries about things like this. Remember, I warned you liberals that you wouldn’t like this blog, so don’t blame me if you have nightmares or scary thoughts.

My goal in writing this piece is just to make people think. Hopefully none of these scenarios will ever take place. America is a treasure that belongs to her people. Nothing nor anyone should ever be allowed to change that. When our liberties are at stake, we the people will make ourselves heard over the roar of any government.

Definition of Conservative, he who stands up for our rights. Where are all the Conservatives in the House and Senate? What happened to our Friend Senator Ensign? Have they just folded their tents and settled in for a comfortable term? I am angry, and any conservative worth their salt should be angry about the railroading of the Timothy Geithner appointment. The man didn’t even pay his taxes. He has his mark all over the big bank bailout, as well as this failure to pay self employment taxes for several years. If that were you or I, we would have been swallowed up and spit out looking like a wad of used up gum. What happens to him? He's now in charge of the IRS.

I guess you have to be a liberal to understand these things. A conservative wouldn’t hire his brother with a record like that. 10 Senators of Republican ilk voted for his appointment. I guess the communication from their constituents didn’t reach them in time. Oh I forgot in this new beginning they don’t work for us anymore they work for the administration and don’t want to rock the boat. We already saw what happens when we rush a program through, remember just in the last few months, the huge 700 Billion dollar bailout that was going to solve all our banking problems. We were told that if it didn’t pass, the world was going to end, and all business as we knew it would be gone. All that the bail out did was let the banks buy littler banks, and get stronger and more defiant. Heck some of these banks we bailed out with our tax money are stronger than our own government.

To my liberal friends, and some of you republicans and blue dog democrats who voted for this change, I would like to ask just how far are you willing to go before you realize your mistake. I know that Socialism is just another word to you, but have you checked the dictionary for its definition? What will be your turning point, maybe the Amnesty of the illegals, or will it take something more like the silencing of talk radio and any opposition to liberalism. How about the battle that’s coming on the 2nd amendment, will you give up your guns to them without a fight? I’m not trying to be radical, I’m just stating what I believe is coming down the road. Now Ms. Pelosi says that by giving our kids condoms and other devices as part of this so called new stimulus we will save money by not having unwanted pregnancies. If there is a mechanic in the house, please report to the Speakers office, we have a loose screw in there.

We have a chance for redemption, if we somehow can open enough eyes between now and the 2010 Congressional elections, just maybe we can cut down on the administration ability to railroad legislation. This will mean turning out weak republicans as well as liberal democrats. We need people who live by, and understand the Constitution of the United States. We have to be prepared to battle the National Press, as well as fight for our place on ballots with liberal registrars. Don’t get confused, this can not be a race war, this is a race to war, to claim our God given rights.

Whose entitled and for what

Whose entitled to what? Who is entitled to what and what does the term entitlements mean? If you take a good look at what has happened to America, the biggest culprit is our entitlement mentality. We are all guilty of some type of entitlement wish. Every where you look there are organizations to join that promise you a voice in government, or it could just be your membership in Aarp. Why do you belong? In most cases people belong to get benefits from the government. Many people are asking our government for free medical, Free education, for free housing and free food. Ask the average American under 50 today and they will say these are entitlements. Who made them entitlements? There are strings attached to each benefit we get from our government, strings that make us more and more dependent on government.

It’s the fallacy that we all are entitled to houses, that brought down the housing financial world. You can’t give people what they haven’t earned and expect them to respect it. It’s the fallacy that we are all entitled to medical benefits, that has ruined many a company just trying to survive. The cost of medical insurance is so high because of the fact that so many frivolous lawsuits have had huge monetary awards at the expense of the companies. The jury of their peers felt that the victim needed to have millions of dollars for the loss of a finger in an accident. I don’t know about you but if someone offered me a million dollars for a single finger, I’d hand it to them with the bloody knife still in my hand. I sure wouldn’t feel that I was entitled to it. We have families, who have been on the welfare roles for decades, why are they there? Because they feel they are entitled, the government told them they were. Our government made quotas for higher education and federal hiring practices, were these people always qualified? No but the system said they were entitled.

I don’t want to sound like a scrooge but who do you think has paid for all these things? Me, that’s who, and I have never so much as drawn unemployment in my life. You know what, I’m tired of paying everybody’s way. I was taught at an early age that we were lucky to be born in America because we have 3 basic rights no other country had; The right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I was taught that they weren’t free rights either, if needed, we were expected to fight for the first two rights,and the third one meant courting a wife and that never came cheap.

Who was the dummy who made up all these new rights that have broken our system? Does the term New Deal or Great Society or War on Poverty come to mind? I’m going to para-phrase this next statement because I don’t have the actual quote in front of me; In 1787, Alexander Tyler (a Scottish history professor) made the following statement; A democracy will only last about 200 years, because when it’s people find out that they can vote themselves money from the treasury, they will and it will destroy the whole concept of democracy. Think about it, this was stated just 11years after our Declaration of Independence was made. I wonder how many new rights or shall we say entitlements will come out from the administration in the next week.

Just in case you think Freedom is forever. A few month ago I saw a video from England about gun control. I hadn’t given it much thought at the time, because living in Nevada, I really never considered that someone could ever take away my privilege of owning guns. Now that I’ve heard some of the rhetoric come out of Washington D.C. this week I am growing more and more concerned. If Robert Reich can get away with stating that the stimulus package should be tied to a provision, that stops companies from hiring qualified laborers to rebuild our infra structure, well than I guess anything can happen. Could gun legislation be far behind?

Stop and think for a minute, take time to watch this video from England. I guaranty you they didn't think it could happen either. It is now easier for a criminal in England to buy a gun on the street from the Black Market, than it is for me to go get a new pistol at the gun shop here in Nevada.

Here we are proposing to give the prisoners at Gitmo the same rights as Americans in the Judicial System yet our rights have been slowly evaporating for years now. When are we as Americans going to say enough is enough? Even if you don’t own a gun, do you want your right to do so taken away? This is not something that should have to be fought for by lawyers and decided by judges, this is an inalienable right given us by the Constitution. If any fighting comes from it, it will be by the people themselves who cherish freedom above all else.

The government is working on a new stimulus plan tied to the Infra Structure of America.

Leave it to good old Robert Reich to show his colors first. Not happy with just creating jobs, now he wants to force companies to hire unqualified labors to work on your roads and bridges? We have millions of qualified individuals, who have worked all their lives to be good at what they do and Reich thinks we should hire those who haven’t done a thing without any of the hard earned experience, to fix our infra structure. Sorry RR but that idea stinks. When my family is traveling along the Interstate system at 70 MPH, I want to know that the guy who tightened the bolts on that bridge knew what the hell he was doing. We will always have some chronic unemployed here in America. I don’t care how you manipulate the system Mr. Reich, some of these bums don’t like to work.

Here we are in a major recession with thousands of construction companies who have paid into the system for years, dying on the vine for lack of jobs, and he wants to throw a monkey in the mixer, to saddle us with some of his liberal ideals. Go jump in the lake Mr. Reich, or better yet, go out and earn a real living for a change, and see what it takes to survive outside of politics. I have a friend who has spent years building a grading and excavation company who is on the verge of bankruptcy, because of this economy. You want him to fail so somebody of color with no experience can get ahead? This man has paid his taxes and has somehow kept most of his men working for 20 years, and that seems to mean nothing to you?

I had hoped beyond hope that common sense would at least be given a chance of survival in this administration, but it looks like it’s going to be a very caustic four years. I say four years because knowing the American people as I feel I do, they will become totally turned off by this kind of governance. The great masses of middle of the road republicans, and blue dog democrats who they fooled into helping this administration get elected, will be watching in disbelief at this type of behavior. We don’t even need Rush and Hannity to bring it to our attention when they pull stuff like this. I’m afraid this is just the beginning. They seem to feel they have a mandate to do what ever they feel and damn the consequences.

The only hope we have is to smother them with cards and letters and phone calls demanding common sense in all they do. I have been asking for calm, and to allow this president time, to show his abilities, but I guess the only ability I’ve seen so far, is that he is living up to his liberal billing. If this attitude of "we won, so get used to it," prevails, you will find a rocky road ahead Mr. President. It’s time to reign in these far-left supporters and put some common sense to work, for the sake of this country.

The first 100 hours.

The first 100 hours. This week has been one of elation, cautious optimism, let down and in some cases just plain fear. Let me explain; No matter which side of the fence you’re on when it comes to politics, you have to admit there has been a huge risk taken by the American people. To save any confusion we’ll just call it an experiment in the Humanities. By electing a man with few credentials and even less experience to the highest office in our country, we have turned over the keys to not only our country and the largest supply of nuclear weapons in the world, but did it during a time in our history when our economy is at the brink of disaster. Two things can happen, the new leadership can rise to the occasion and in doing so will build a dynasty for years to come, or find the task to daunting and drive us deeper into a worldwide depression.

What have we learned so far, President Obama has signed a document that basically releases the combatants in Gitmo back into the fray. When asked, the administration stated that they really didn’t know what they were going to do with the detainees, but they had made this promise to their base. Wow! This is a pretty big thing when you think about it, these are the same people that were months ago killing our soldiers and dragging their bodies through the streets of Fallujah and Haditha. Now we put ourselves in a corner as to their disposition. Wouldn’t it have been better to give it a few weeks and find a secure home for these prisoners. If we put them in our Federal Prison system the costs will be enormous, and their safety will certainly be in question. Keeping campaign promises is great but doing things without thinking them through is crazy.

The next thing our new administration did was curtail the efforts of the CIA and Military in interrogation practices. The very things that have been keeping us safe here at home are being taken off the board. The use of water boarding has been extremely effective in gathering intel, and no one as of yet has proven a long term damage from using it. I would say that a trend towards political correctness has reared its head already. As a warrior going into battle, you would hope your government would be prepared to win. We find ourselves fighting for our very existence against brutal people whose only purpose in life is to die for their cause, and we are worried about what other countries think. Countries who I might add that are benefiting from our warriors efforts in the area of safety. Whoa big fella, this is too ridiculous to believe. If this keeps up, we will find ourselves coming to the aid of Europe once again, as the radical Muslims take control of that part of the world. Just look at last summer’s riots in France and the major problems in The Netherlands.

The economic problems will soon be secondary if we have another major attack on our financial infra structure here in America. We won’t have an economy to worry about. Mr. President, I beg you, leave our security net intact. Take on the problems of the economy first, by reaching across the aisle and include the opposition in any fix you come up with. This is not a one party system here in America, and if run like it is, it will fail badly. Don’t make the same mistakes as your predecessors, make this a government of inclusion not exclusion. The Democrats showed such hatred towards Bush that it led to a standstill in every phase of government. This may have helped win an election, but it surely won’t run a country. I plead with the Republicans too, work towards solutions in all you do, not partisanship. The country will thank you all in the end.

Communication is the answer

Communication is the answer A good friend wrote me today totally confused, and here was his question; I am a Conservative, and I find myself dreading the content of each news broadcast and speech I hear, that reminds me of how badly we lost. How will I survive this new era of America?

My good friend, you above all should know that we are the product of a very diverse system here in the United States, we have always had diversity in our government and our lives. For someone on the outside looking in, it must look like the Russian professor was right, when he predicted that America was headed for a total breakup of our society. Actually nothing could be further from the truth, yes we are politically divided at this point, but we will come together and once again be just Americans one an all. The diversity we have only makes us stronger, as it is like a debate where each side builds credibility and eventually a compromise is reached. Our goal as conservatives in this era should be just to be heard. By speaking without the hatred that was the center piece of the opposition in the last administration, we can make our voices heard. With a commonsense approach to issues as they come up before the Congress, we can get our point across by going directly to the people of America. I still believe the majority of our citizens are basically commonsense people who will respond to commonsense in ideas and in actions.

We have learned in the last four years that Congress responds to polls, and we allowed the liberal media to have a field day by giving them so many opportunities to stick another knife in the back of conservatism. President Bush was good at keeping us safe from further attacks by terrorists, but failed badly in the area of communication. He was ineffective in his efforts to go straight to the people in a convincing manner. The last commander in Chief we had who was an accomplished communicator was Reagan, he could sit down and discuss real problems with the people, and generally they would come away understanding the issue. President Obama is a good communicator, but unlike Reagan he seems to be able to only say what the audience wants to hear, I have yet to hear him present a case where he states that we are going to suffer as a result of his action, it has been only the same old rhetoric of a tax break for the middle class and the poor. We have to be the alter ego in today’s government and without the malice that was present in the last four years, be in a position to make our voices heard by the people.

After 8 whole years of the trash talk that we have experienced, it would be refreshing to hear commonsense alternative views, stated in a way that the people of America can decide on the value of the content and not be swayed by the manufactured emotion of the media. I believe the people will respond to less rhetoric and more straight talk from our side. When the administration is correct give them credit, when it’s wrong give them hell, but do it with class and tact.

Please Mr. President, hear me out.

Please Mr. President, hear me out. It’s Tuesday January 20th, 2009 as I write this article, and I am watching history being made as we swear in our first black president. As I look back on my last 67 years of experience, I cannot remember a more historic time in our lives. Not only the first black president, but the fact that we are mired in the deepest recession of my life, and involved in four wars at the same time. Yes I said four, we have the Afghanistan front, the Iraqi front, the war on drugs and the war against terror. It only took one war to bring our economy back in 1941, but we live now in different times. It’s not proper for us to go all out for victory in any of these wars, just fight one battle at a time. It’s important to stay politically correct in all we do. If we had attacked the war on drugs with gusto, we would have closed our sieve of a border long ago, but alas that would have upset our neighbors to the south. If we would have attacked the war on terror with the same tenacity as we did WWII, Osama would be in custody or dead as would his organization, but alas we would have upset our Arab friends. If we would have gone into the mountains of Pakistan and routed the Taliban in the beginning Afghanistan would be prosperous and free by now. If we would have finished the first war over Iraqi expansionism into Kuwait, we wouldn’t have this protracted life sentence that we do in Iraq now.

Now I know it’s easy to be a Monday morning quarterback, but these lessons have been available to us for years, at least since Korea and Viet Nam. Our government has constantly tried to be the good guy and fight our battles with political correctness in mind, instead of with victory in our hearts. I don’t for see any change soon, but if this president wants to be successful in any of these fronts he must consider victory as an option.

What’s the solution to these problems? Heck if I knew that, I would be president, but there are some obvious ideas:

1. Seriously close our border to the south. Use regular troops if necessary but get rid of the army of criminals pouring across the border with their supply of drugs. I don’t mean to keep legal business from coming across the border, I just mean check every person, bag, box and truck completely and know that they have legal business in the United States. Anyone coming across illegally in an area that does not have a legal checkpoint is up to no good and should answer to our military.

2. The Tribal region of Afghanistan has been the breeding ground for the Taliban movement since time began. We have been afraid to upset our Pakistani allies so we pretend to fight the good fight in Afghanistan. We are allowing these guys a sanctuary to recover and re-coop after every battle. We have to learn that there are no civilians in this war. The Alqeda taught us that in 2001. Until we bring the war to the tribes of the area, they will continue to support the enemy. Permission or no permission we need to bomb the area constantly until they are ready to throw the insurgents out. Our CIA has to be ready to move against the Pakistani Nukes at a moments notice to neutralize them.

3. To end the war in Iraq quickly and with the least chance for troop loss we need to end the incursions from Iran. To me the easiest way to accomplish that is to provide aid to the dissidents in the country. Keep the government of Iran busy with internal problems so they can’t be bothered with trying to effect the outcome of Iraqi democracy. The pro western groups in Iran are many, and we have the ability to get help to them. Cut of the flow of arms to the insurgents in Iraq and you cut off its head. There should be a no travel zone in the border area guarded by any means possible including sensors through-out the area. Anything moving is the enemy and should be taken out by air or missile.

4. As far as the recession is concerned it’s time to forget the banks and get the money into the hands of the Small Business Administration so they can keep the engine of our economy running, the small business community creates more jobs than the big three or any bank.

Now these aren’t just my ideas, they have been around since the beginning of these conflicts and need to be implemented if we intend to win.

Well that’s my thoughts about the world what are yours?

A little late but they're finally free

A little late but finally they're free. Thank God, President Bush finally got enough pressure to stand up to his buddy, prosecutor Johnny Sutton, and commute the sentences of Compean and Ramos, the two incarcerated Border Agents. A lot of the thanks goes to you guys, right here on this blog, who took the time to write to the White House and demand justice. There’s just one more thing we have left to do, and since Bush has shown such reluctance to support this cause, we will have to do it through President Obama. Starting next week we need to communicate these feelings to President Obama: We feel most Americans view this whole incarceration with disdain, and we need to let him know that we feel it’s important to get these two reinstated in the Border Patrol, if they so wish, including the lost pay they and their families have suffered greatly without. It has been said by some, (very few) thank God, right here in the comments on this blog, that these men deserved this sentence, because they tried to cover up their actions by picking up their shell casing after the shoot out. You want to know something, I don’t really care what they picked up, in my mind they were just trying to get another load of illegal drugs off our streets, with out a doubt in the process saving the lives of countless of our addicted kids. Until we clamp down on the border, and the import of illegal drugs, our war on drugs will never be won. Personally I wouldn’t care if they shot all the known mules that traffic in drugs. Many of us have seen first hand the devastation these drugs bring to families and entire cities.

Lets face it, if we don’t get a handle on this problem, we are going to be in very sad shape in very few years. The drug problem here in America has already taken away half of a generation of American kids not to mention a fair share of adults who should know better. Ask any school administrator from elementary through high school what their biggest problem is. We have gangs here that thrive on the traffic of illegal drugs, making millions of illegal dollars, competing with one another, causing murder and mayhem by crossfire, something that our cities experience constantly.

I feel it’s important to let this president know right away, that we want the situation on our borders corrected immediately. We need to let him know without a doubt that this is part of the change that is needed. There is also a disproportionate number of minorities who are affected by this problem. We will never be able to have racial equality without first getting a plug in this [...]. If you think that this is not a racial problem, check the statistics at a local prison or a jail near you. As an American citizen, I just want these kids in school learning to be the leaders of the future, not shooting at one another on street corners in drug infested neighborhoods, killing innocent bystanders in their crossfire.

Stop the nonsense and get down to business We’ve all known people in our lives that become irritating because of their self- promotion. They are always doing thing to make themselves look good rather than just doing good things. That’s kind of how I feel about this Coronation we are presently experiencing. The 150 to 160 Million dollars being squandered on this event is mind boggling in a time in our country when we are facing economic disaster.

This freedom ride as it has been coined is just one more self-promoting event that wasn’t required. The election is over and we should be concentrating on recovery. This period was an opportunity for the two Presidents to work together to try to settle the stomach of the average American. Yes, I said, and I believe, the average American is really unsettled with what is happening to our great country. We need to have leadership not words during this transition. The sight of two presidents standing together in agreement to the handling of our economic disaster might just have been comforting. The problem is as I see it is that there is no real plan. Between them all they can come up with is throwing more and more money at the problem without knowing what it’s doing in the way of help. I just wonder when it comes to governing if Obama will be able to switch from the self-promoting candidate, to a real, buck stops here executive. He has never been tested in this area. He has been on the climb in politics for the last ten years and has never had to sit and make life and death decisions.

Don’t get me wrong, I want him to succeed, I love my country and only want the best for our people. What scares me is that this self-promotion hasn’t stopped, it is still out front in all he does. To me I would have jumped for joy if he had come out and said forget the hoopla, save the money and let’s just get busy. This so far hasn’t happened and this coronation just seems to be an extension of the Roman Alter from the convention.

I guess I shouldn’t worry because the government can just print more money when we need more bailouts and the banks can buy more banks to make them richer. I was just pondering though, what would it taken to really fund the Small Business Administration so they could get the real engine of the economy going, small business. Maybe 100 billion or so, gee that seems like a drop in the bucket when we’re spending 150 Million on just the inauguration. Oh well, who am I, just another taxpayer and small business owner. If my company fails the government will take good care of my employees. Not to worry.

It'll take more than money to stop this recession

It'll take more than money to stop this recession What is it going to take to turn this economy around? We have seen the result of the so-called bailout of the financial system, big bonus programs and big banks sucking up littler ones who didn’t get in on the bailout. What has it done for you, the poor sucker who is paying for all this?

I think I can answer that for you, NOTHING! That’s right we have put ourselves in debt for the next generation or two, and have absolutely nothing to show for it. We elect politicians to do a job and supposedly protect us from criminal activity, yet we let them pick our pockets clean constantly. This financial armageddon we find our selves mired in will not be solved by throwing money at it alone. We really need to turn off the TV and the radio, and throw away the newspaper for a while, and just live our lives as we always have. We are bombarded daily with news of bank failures, companies going down, huge layoffs. It’s a wonder we all haven’t thrown it the towel and headed for the nearest high bridge. This recession we have created for ourselves, is as much a state of mind as it is a reality. To understand this better, pour a glass of water and drink about half of it. Now consider that this is the last water in the city, and you have to conserve what you can and still stay healthy. That half of a glass of water will start to look smaller and smaller. Take a sip about every hour, just a sip, you don’t want to run out. As the glass gets closer and closer to the bottom, the anxiety starts in. What happens when the water is all gone? It’s the same with a recession, one of these days some brilliant person will go on the air and say, “The recession is over”. Wall Street will rejoice and the market will jump 500 points. Businesses will start hiring again, and we all will be happy and free to spend our money on all the things we have been depriving ourselves of.

Now I know I’m exaggerating a bit, but just stop and think about it for a minute. We are a very gullible species. We think, therefore we are. I can remember years ago when I stopped smoking. If I kept busy, and didn’t have time to think about it, I was fine. Every once in a while without thinking, I would reach into my shirt pocket for the ever present cigarettes, finding none, the panic would set in, and I would go out and buy a new pack. It’s a natural reaction to being deprived of something precious. I finally quit by carrying around a pack of cigarettes for about a month, but I put them upside down in my pocket, so I would have to think about whether I really had to have one or not. I kept telling myself if I really needed one, they were there, but since I had gone this long, I could do it a while longer. It worked for me, and in a month or so I pitched the pack in the trash. That was a very great day for me, I felt the monkey was finally off my back. We humans are creatures of habit, tell us something over and over long enough, and we will believe it to be true.

Don’t get me wrong, if you are one of the unlucky ones who have lost your job due to this recession, it’s not just in your head, you’ve been the victim of the brainwashing of a Nation. If you are still working, making the same money, doing the same job, then you are among the 90% of the people who are part of the problem. What are you thinking, money doesn’t grow in your pocket. If anything, the money you horde now, will be worth less and less if the recession continues and deepens, inflation will eventually set in and your money will become less of an asset each day. If the 90% of the people who are still working, and still making money, went to the Mall this week, or to the car lot, and made just one purchase, this country would respond like a roman candle.

We have let the Anchors of the Broadcast companies become our thought process. If they say it, we automatically believe it to be true. It’s time to take the responsibility on our own shoulders and break the cycle of depression that has taken over our great country. It’s time to go out and shop till you drop.

Here I am

Here I am I have always tried to write in the first person, in other words I represent me and no one else in my thoughts. I have been accused of copying others or being part of some right wing conspiracy and one guy actually told me I was a liberal in disguise. With that in mind I thought I would for once and for all really expose my feeling and lay myself wide open for criticism from all sides. Sounds like a fun experiment, lets see if it draws a crowd;

First of all a very good friend of mine, and I might say a confident is the ex speaker of the house, here in Nevada. He is a democrat and a real gentleman. When he was Speaker they got more done in a week, than the present house gets in its full term. He was able to reach across party lines to get thing done, and actually has as many republican friends as he does democrats. I am a conservative leaning independent and in most cases I find the liberal movement in the Democratic Party disconcerting. I really feel the Democratic Party has been high-jacked by the far left. Although we have a great deal of differences in our politics, I have the highest respect and admiration for this man. One thing my friend is not, is a far-left liberal, he is a good old fashion blue collar hard working democrat. We can discuss politics without all the demeaning name calling, and actually come to a consensus at times all the while enjoying our conversations.

I bring this up to you because I have noticed a dark side, to some of our blog comments on both sides. Being able to express your opinions doesn’t have to include hostility. Everyone has a right to their opinion and should be able to state their case in terms others can respect. I know there are a lot of people who try to preach to me in their comments, and tell me how right they are, and I must be a total fool because I can’t see their way is the right way. It’s usually the younger generation that have been totally liberalized and feel they have all the answers. I usually ignore these type comments, because they really don’t add to the discussion. I write what I truly believe in, what I have garnered from my years of experience in business and my stint in the military. I am fortunate that I have had a life partner for almost 50 years now, to keep me grounded in principle, and to remind me to always look both ways on the street and in conversation.

I am too old to be swayed with rhetoric, and I really appreciate someone who can argue their case with logic, without including all the standard party talking points. This goes for both democrats and republicans. My views are pretty transparent and I like it that way, it allows me to speak from the heart and not from something I’ve heard in passing.

My beliefs:
I am against partial birth abortion. I feel that it is the same as murder of a living child.

As far as abortion is concerned I have never let myself be brought into this fight as I feel it is totally derisive and neither side will ever be satisfied.

Religion:
I believe my religion is my business, I am a Christian and a believer in God as the creator. I do not try to force my religion on others and I don’t appreciate it when it happens to me. I believe ones faith is a deeply personal thing and is nobody else’s business.

Welfare;
Welfare is something that should be there for emergencies and not there to be a standard of living. Man should be rewarded for his actions, not applauded for his in-action. Welfare should exist for the infirmed and those with temporary setbacks.

Government;
The government should be only for our protection and not be a provider. When the government gets involved in the private sector, it removes all forms of competition, and competition is what leads us to achieve more, and gives us the chance for success. Our goal as a people should be to be self-sufficient and not dependent. When you create a society based on entitlement, you have pretty much reached the end of the line for a democracy. Why should some work while others benefit.

I learned a great deal during the Johnson and later the Carter years. I feel they setback the problem of race and equality for decades, by forcing quotas in employment and education in America. By not demanding the same standards on blacks as whites, they caused not only bitterness in the case of the whites who were frozen out, but allowed black children to slip by without the benefit of a complete education. It was as if they felt the Blacks were unable to learn at the same level. This was an injustice that still haunts the black society today. Some of the most brilliant minds in the world have been black, why would they feel that this was a necessary provision?

Nixon;
This was a case in power breeding corruption. He had his personal guard you might say that was so enamored with power, that they forgot who they worked for. In Nixon I learned that it is not the deed for which you pay it is the cover-up.

My favorite president;
This is a toss up, I feel Ronald Reagan brought a great deal of pride back to our country and allowed the people to be part of his presidency. This has been lacking in the last few presidents and it shows in their inability to get things accomplished. Reagan trumped congress with his wild card, ‘we the people.’ My co favorite president would have to be Eisenhower. He came to us at a time of turmoil (Korea) and brought a sense of dignity and decorum to the office. He accomplished a great deal with his Interstate Highway System. Every time you travel the Interstate you should say thanks Ike.

Military Service;
If I were in charge we would never send our troops into combat situations without guarantying them the opportunity to win. If the cause is great enough for war then it should be fought to win not compromise and settlement. The lives of our men and women in the military should be held in a sacred trust and never squandered for political fortune. If it were up to me every young man and woman would serve in some way his country. The sense of teamwork, the leadership skills and the pride in accomplishment that comes from serving your country, cannot be created in a classroom. Of course I don’t mean all should be soldiers, sailors or marines but there are many ways one could serve.

Gays;
I guess I'm from the old school enough to think that something as personal as sexual orientation, should not be a topic for mainstream conversation. I have known may Gays in my life and have worked side by side with them without a problem. I would be uncomfortable to disguss their way of life, as I feel unqualified to do so. My dealings with people have always been eye to eye, and I never noticed any difference in their abilities. I guess what I'm saying is, that I don't really approve but as long as it isn't constantly the topic of conversation in confrontational way, I simply don't pay attention to that part of their lives.

Teaching;
I believe that teachers should be trained to be as a-political as possible. Both sides of a legitimate argument should always be taught in the classroom without favor. We learn by either example or by forming our own opinions. When a teacher taints the subject with favoritism they eliminates the chance to form our own conclusions, there-by handicapping the student. I believe more emphasis should be put on achievement in the classroom. There has been a tendency to not pay tribute to the achievers because it may upset the un-achievers. I believe this is wrong. I also believe teachers should be paid according to their abilities and this could be based on the test results of their students.

Call me angry

Call me angry! Once again the Federal Government is raiding our community well, and dredging it for more bailout monies. This time I feel we should have the oversight that has been lacking in the previous robberies. I live in a small town and as far as I can tell not one dollar of the first bailout has reached our area. What was supposed to turn our economy around has only succeeded in making Wall Street an area of Free
Parking for the fat cats.

One thing America has always stood for is the right to work hard and become successful. Our leaders seem to have forgotten that it is really middle class Americans who fund and provide for our government. The Farmers, The Factory workers, the Carpenters, the Truck drivers are just a few who feed the engine of commerce. The monies that are being asked for now, should include real help for these people. Emergency loans to provide help for small business. A real attempt to force the banks and mortgage companies to reduce interest, and rewrite home loans. I’m not talking about some of the ridiculous loans made to people who should never have qualified in the first place. I’m talking about people who have lost long term employment solely because of the economic situation. These people face complete devastation and had very little to do with the cause.

We keep getting nods of agreement from our politicians as if they understand what has happened in America, all the while they have no idea what it’s like to face the circumstances real Americans are experiencing daily. Our leaders are so far removed from everyday human events, that until they are forced to go out and live with their constituents for a month, they will never get it. How many of them have ever had to clip coupons, just to be able to buy necessary staples that are required for survival.

We have come a long way over the years in the area of equality, yet we find ourselves now locked in a battle of our lives just to survive. Who are we battling? The big banks of the world have become stronger than the countries they reside in. Our government, and I mean by that, all but a few of our representatives, have fallen all over themselves to provide billions of dollars of help for these behemoths who turned around used it to pay bonus’s to their managers and purchase smaller banks who weren’t in on the giveaway. Now they want to dig into our wallets even deeper to do the same thing.

I say NO! until they provide a document showing exactly how this money will be used for the good of our total economic growth. Any money now needs to go into a program to allow increases in consumer credit availability. If we don’t free up money to get the basic economy back on its feet we won’t even need any of these the big banks. I’m not referring to the stimulus being presented by the Obama administration, I’m just talking about the other half of the 700 billion still in the hands of the Treasury. The track record of Secretary Paulson in regards to the distribution of the first half of the bailout is terrible. He should have nothing to do with any future monies in the program. We need and will demand accountability for this money, and we sure don’t need to give it to our friends on Wall Street.

Right Wing Whacko or Liberal Loon Why is it that just because you have an opinion on a subject such as politics, you are either a right wing whacko or a liberal loon? Can’t someone have an opinion without having a label attached? As most of you know, I do have opinions and I make them very clear here in my blog. Why is it that one person sees my blog as right wing republican propaganda and another can call me a liberal without a conscience? I’m really getting confused about who and what I am. I wonder if these label mongers ever stopped to realize that I just try to use logic and commonsense in my thinking? I could care less what the politicians think or say, and I will always say what I feel whether or not it has an issue with either the republicans or the democrats. This country as I see it has become devoid of God, any God. Now before you lambaste me on bringing religion into this discussion, allow me to explain. Our America, whether you want to believe it or not was founded on basically Christian principals. Ours laws reflect this as does our Constitution. Our founding Fathers were basically Christian white men who knew no other way.

Now comes the rub, we have 3 branches of government here in the United States of America, the Judicial, the Legislative and the Executive branches. These were designed to counter balance one another to prohibot one group from taking charge over the others. As our country has grown so has our government evolved, and not in the way our Fore-Fathers had planned. (See the Federalist papers before you disagree.) After reading them I’m sure you will agree they were a pretty conservative bunch of guys.

After a great crisis like the Crash of 1929, the Communist party felt it really had an opportunity here in America. Using the method of divide and conquer they attempted to infiltrated unions and succeeded in creating rifts where there had been none before. They found a real foothold in the far-left attitudes in Hollywood. They were called Socialists, Socialist unity party and the Workers party. As Americans tend to do, these parties changed as they progressed, not wanting to be called Communists, they tempered their organizations calling themselves Liberal Democrats (no relation to our Democratic party) and worked their way into our education system becoming very active in the 60’s during the Hippy Revolution. When the split developed in the Sino-Soviet pact during this time period they found a willing audience in our youth by advocating freedom from everything Mom and Dad ever desired for them. Think about it, no work, communal living, free sex, they were anti war, it made it so easy to get kids involved and they didn’t have to worry about God or his rules. Almost an entire generation bought into this philosophy. These were not stupid un-educated kids, they in many cases were the cream of the generation. We lost our right to praise God, and to thank him for our blessing at that point in history. We discovered Political Correctness as we lost our path to God. Now I’m not a religious zealot but when the principals of the country were based on Gods teaching, and we found ourselves turning away from those principals we had nothing to take their place. The Ten Commandments, gone. The Golden Rules, gone. Nothing, that’s what we had in his place.

Many of the college professors of the era had come up through the ranks and were in a position to give credence to this behavior. When you stop and think about it, many of our teachers and College Professors now, are these same kids who attended school in the 60’s. What philosophy do you think many of them take into the classroom?

When I was growing up in the 40’s and 50’s the term Democrat meant Mom and Dads just trying to eek out a living and raise their families. They were hard working, and generally pretty darn conservative in nature. One thing for sure, they were no nonsense people, mostly of blue collar persuasion.

My how things have changed. The Liberal Democrats have taken control of the real democratic party without firing a shot. The true Democrats still won’t believe that it’s not the same party they grew up with and have been snookered ever since Eugene McCarthy ran for president in 1968. The days of real democrats like Senator Henry (Scoop) Jackson and even Tip O’neal are gone. In their place are Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and don’t forget Barney Frank. I ask you, do these guys even hold a candle to Truman or even John F. Kennedy?”

Carter changed things for good with his one sided liberal appointments to the Judiciary.
These appointments were the beginning of the Quota System in Education and the work place. Yes my parents Good old Democratic party is gone, and in its place we have Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank.

I personally do not consider myself a Republican or a Democrat, I do not engage in any party activity unless it pertains to a particular candidate I happen to agree with. My hope for this great country is that Obama will do a wonderful job in a non-partisan way, and get us back on track without shifting us so far left that Russia will look like a Republican stronghold.
