The best thing I ever bought for cooking a turkey is my electric roaster!!!! It cooks so evenly and the meat comes right off the bones!!! Another good thing is you can leave and go to the store where if I was using my regular oven I would worry about possible fire!!!

My way of saving energy is to go to a restaurant and give thanks that there won't be a mess to clean up after dinner.

If I do cook, though, I don't have theoven light on for hours at a time and I try to coordinate what needs to be prepared when to avoid energy waste.
